Vampiro Life - Build in Public: Entry One
Hey folks 👋
This is the first update in the journey of building Vampiro Life, a passion project I am developing on weekends and late nights while working full-time in Supabase Support. It is a slow grind, no investors, no VC pressure, just me, a keyboard, and way too many dark, brooding ideas.
Why Vampiro Life?
If you have ever wanted an AI Dungeon Master that can truly handle the more complex, adult-oriented narrative styles, think betrayal, murder, manipulation, and yes, even sex, you are not alone. Most AI storytelling tools still feel like they are stuck in PG-13 land. That works for many, but I have always craved something deeper and messier.
Vampiro Life aims to bring that experience to life, especially for fans of Vampire: The Masquerade, where the lines between monster and human are always blurred.
What has been done so far
-
Pricing schema Right now, pricing is primarily based on GPU costs. It is not perfect and I am very open to feedback, especially from people who want to play often but find pricing a barrier.
-
World building The world-building engine is alive, buggy, but breathing. You can already set up your own dark cities and story settings, and it is enough to run a solid Vampire: The Masquerade session with the AI as your DM.
-
LLM-agent interaction This was a big step: the AI DM now understands how to be a vampire. Your character can now bite and harm humans, which sounds wild, but is crucial to delivering a believable vampire experience.
Roadmap ahead
P1 - MVP essentials
- Disciplines action button: lets players actually use vampire powers in-session.
- Skill check action button: brings in proper dice mechanics for actions, using Vampire: The Masquerade's classic system.
P3 - Next gameplay layer
- Quests: players can accept and progress through quests created by the DM.
- XP and leveling up: actions start to matter more.
- Battles: combat mechanics beyond narration.
P4 - World-building revamp
- More intuitive region editing
- Better navigation for larger cities and stories
P5 - Map and visuals
- Improve the background image
- Potentially replace the map engine with something more flexible and visually rich
That is it for now. Still early days, still building steadily. If you are into narrative-heavy RPGs, love World of Darkness, or just want to follow the chaos of an indie project trying to do something weird and wonderful, welcome aboard.
Let me know what you would like to see in Vampiro Life, or just say hi.
